This is the problem with buying tickets to a Virginia Tech vs. Virginia football game played in Charlottesville.
Did anyone else see the police officer assigned to Frank Beamer drag that kid to the ground after the win over Miami? The kid, who looks to be about 12-14, congratulates Coach Beamer and then starts hopping in front of a camera. At that point, the cop grabs him by the backpack and throws him to the ground.
I’m not saying the kid didn’t deserve it because he’s not supposed to be on the field, but I think that was a little excessive. You can watch it here. It begins about 1:50 into the video. The kid doesn’t appear any worse for the wear and can be seen jumping around like a pogo stick just a few seconds later. Still, I think the cop could have dialed it back a little. He’ll be lucky if he doesn’t get sued.
And also…
…VT’s MFA program is not open to VT undergrad’s. They only pull from other universities to keep it “fair”. Fair is not looking at what school they attended and reading their literature, then making a “fair” decision based on their talent, in my most humble opinion.
Absolute bullshit.
